prenode is proud to be among the selected projects for the StartUpSecure program. The initiative aims to support research teams that focus on cyber security topics. StartUpSecure was launched as part of the national IT security strategy and is lead by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
As more and more companies implement AI, it emerges as a cornerstone technology that will give these organizations an important competitive advantage. However, traditional approaches for AI development involve the centralization of data. This gives way for potential vulnerabilities.
prenode overcomes this issue by removing the need to centralize data. Our solution focuses on AI development on-the-edge, that means in the environment where the data is produced. In consequence, only the locally developed models are exchanged. The secure exchange of ML models between distributed systems plays an important role in the application of AI for companies. You can find out more about this approach on the mlx page.
Specifically, the program involves the cooperation with local competence hubs at universities. In Karlsruhe, the Competence Center for Applied Security Technology (KASTEL) at the KIT addresses the challenges of interconnected systems.
Program duration: 10/2019 – 09/2020
